Be Fearless

BE FEARLESS. Stuart threw himself into his first ever 3000m on the track this month. With a 12.50 clocking, he didn’t stop there and followed up his first track run with a 400m! Next up is his first attempt over the 200m, 800m and the hurdles! Now that’s the definition of fearless. Good luck!

The elusive 10K PB

By the smallest of margins, Rachel B missed her 10K PB. With a little more confidence – there’s certainly more to come!

“Well, I can’t stick to the racing line for the life of me, and it wouldn’t necessarily have been a PB if I had (since I matched my PB pace yet again!) but how amazing that I got to run on the Silverstone F1 circuit.
Great event, and I will do a proper write up for next Wednesday’s blog post, but right now I just need to go home and try not to be disappointed with my result as I was really hoping for that elusive PB.”

If you can do it in training…

Sometimes there’s a big PB bubbling under the surface. If you can do it in training – it won’t be long until it clicks in a race. We can’t wait to see just how fast Jay can go over the 5K distance!

“Been a bit quiet this week, but I had a great session on Tuesday on the track 10 x 300s (all under 54seconds) felt really good and full of speed!! That night I spent a lovely 5hours in hospital getting admitted for a nerve problem in my shoulder, arm and wrist!! Fast forward to last night Christleton 5k … one of the fastest around the North West.
I was buzzing and definitely knew I was in PB shape (sub 16:34) and the plan was to settle into 5:17 – 5:20 min miles rather than bombing off and holding on.
I did my first mile in 5:17 but then it went all over the show I lost my rhythm and didn’t feel comfortable at all and I knew a PB wasn’t on mile 2 was 5:31 followed by 5:37 the only saving grace for myself was that I clocked 16:55 another sub 17.
To be disappointed with that time says a lot about how far I’ve came past 6 months going from trying to beat 17:24 ( for 3 years) to now consistently going sub 17. Suppose this race can be written off … back to the track on Tuesday 👌🏻💨🏃🏻‍♂️ On the a more positive note by better half knocked a huge 14 seconds off her PB setting a new Club Record in the process 18:28 😎 so proud!!”

Words of wisdom from Rachel B

Some words of wisdom from Rachel B.

“I remember when I first started going for longer runs. Three years ago I went for my longest run post injury. 7 miles seemed like such a long way back then. Even when I trained for my first half marathon, 7 miles felt like an eternity. Now I get out an easy 7 mile run in my lunch break and go back to work meetings as if it was nothing.
Stick at it. Keep pushing. One day it will be easy. It will be effortless.”

“A day of mixed emotion really at the @liverpoolspring10k_5k_1k a great event by Matt.
1) I came 2nd place in the 5k clocking 17:21 (36 seconds off last Fridays Mid Cheshire) in reflection I should of committed myself more in the last 1k to take the win but left it too late.
2) My little boy Mylo who is 2 took part in his first official race completing the kids 1k earning himself a nice sparkly medal …. proud dad.
3) For 10 weeks I have been running a Couch 2 5k group in my workplace … the 4 people who had no previous running experience all ‘graduated’ today by also completing the 5k … proud!!”
